Jenna Ewert and Lena Kindermann are now part of the squad for Thuringia’s first division club VfB Suhl. The management team reacted to the injury misery with the two new signings. Both will serve for Suhl for the first time in a duel against Roten Raben Vilsbiburg on Saturday (7.1.2023, 7 p.m.).
Kindermann – via Greifswald and Alabama to Suhl
Kindermann comes from Greifswald, was trained in the talent factory of SSC Palmberg Schwerin and moved to Jacksonville (USA) to study. The 23-year-old left-hander, who is almost 1.90 meters tall, is now moving back to Germany from “Sweet Home Alabama”. “Lena convinced us in the trial just before Christmas and we are happy to be able to sign a young German player,” says team manager Jens Haferkorn.
Jenna Ewert follows her brother to Germany
Jenni Liu’s (return to the USA) only temporary director position will also be reassigned through a transatlantic transfer. In addition to Yina Liu, who has returned to the team after a lengthy injury layoff, Jenna Maria Ewert from the USA will pull the strings from now on in the pass position. The 22-year-old is moving from Texas University to Suhl.
Suhl’s new number 18 follows her older brother Jordan to Germany, who has been chasing points for SVG Lüneburg in the men’s 1st Volleyball Bundesliga since 2020.
