Elizabeth Olsen ( “WandaVision”) will star in Take on “Love and Death,” a new miniseries from HBO Max. The series also has a star cast behind the camera and includes David E. Kelley ( “The Undoing”), Nicole Kidman “Big Little Lies”) and director Lesli Linka Glatter ( “Homeland”) to the production team.
The series is based on the true story of Texas housewife, Candy Montgomery, who murdered her church friend, Betty Gore, with an ax in 1980. Olsen will star in Candy Montgomery.
The story of the notorious murder was already taken up in the book “Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs” and a collection of articles from the Texas Monthly, which will also serve as the basis for the series.
This is a gripping story about the frustrations and longings of two women in a small town that culminates in a terrible act of violencesays Sarah Aubrey of HBO Max.

“Love and Death” is being produced by Lionsgate Television for HBO Max. Kelley is executive producer through David E. Kelley Productions, while Kidman and Per Saari are executive producers through Blossom Films. In addition to directing, Linka Glatter will also act as executive producer.
This is now the second high profile project on the Candy Montgomery case announced within the last year. Elisabeth Moss will star Montgomery in the UCP miniseries Candy, which is currently in development at Hulu.
Olsen was most recently seen as a protagonist on the critically acclaimed Marvel series “WandaVision” on Disney +. In it, she resumed her role as Wanda Maximoff from the Marvel films. She will also be in the coming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” can be seen.
