We have experience and will to recover, survive, win – President of Armenia

In his message, the text of which was published on the official website of the President of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan called the outgoing year 2020 “the hardest year in our modern history.”

This year, according to the President, was “heavy in its losses, heavy in its consequences, hard in its lessons.”

“We have been through cruel trials. I want to emphasize once again: Our people are not defeated! The soldier is not defeated! The citizen is not defeated! The Armenian is not defeated!

During the war, the sons of our people demonstrated an indescribable fighting spirit, exceptional heroism, courage and endurance.

The result of the war and the current situation is a consequence of disorganization, irresponsibility and lack of professionalism in various spheres of government.

This page needs to be closed.

Once again I bow before the memory of our fallen heroes.

I wish recovery to our wounded. They need our daily attention and care.

I express my gratitude to all our compatriots who provided the soldiers with a solid rear.

The state, the government are obliged to do everything possible to find out the fate of the missing, to quickly return home all the captives and hostages.

The state, the government is obliged to ensure the protection and security of the borders and especially the residents of the border communities of the country.

Our further path is very difficult and full of trials. We have deep wounds.

But we also have the experience and the will to recover, survive, and win.

There is no alternative to unity.

The memory of our fallen heroes obliges all Armenians to rally around the Motherland, to rally our forces.

To overcome this situation, you need to have a clear vision, strategy, and a realistic plan.

Any word, promise or appeal is in vain if each of us is out of place, if we do not act with all our responsibility.

Dear compatriots!

Thirty years ago, the restoration of statehood was a dream for us.

Next year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. We must be able to do this with dignity and with our heads held high.

Let’s keep our sovereignty, statehood, national and spiritual values strong!

First of all, we ourselves must put our house in order.

Our future is in our hands.

From now on, we have no right to live in isolation from the reality of Facebook, a virtual, unreal life.

Today it is necessary:

to focus all our efforts on solving real problems;

change the way of thinking;

re-form our national and state concept;

reassess ourselves and what we have;

to rebuild state administration, economy, army, diplomacy and, of course, education and science.

And all this for the sake of having a strong and safe Armenia, for the sake of Artsakh [Карабаха – ред.], for the sake of strengthening the faith and trust of the Diaspora in the Motherland.

Throughout its history, the Armenian people have had glorious victories and painful defeats.

Our very existence is proof of victory and a history of victory.

And I am sure that Armenians and Armenia will still celebrate new victories.
