Since when has Greenpeace been operating?
A. Greenpeace is turning 50 years old and was founded in 1971, in Vancouver, Canada, and is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
This non-governmental organization (NGO) that fights for the conservation of the environment launched into the world with a concert by Joan Báez and chose something very big, dramatic and dangerous for its first mission.
On September 15, 1971, a group of activists set sail off the coast of Alaska to disrupt the United States’ test detonation of a nuclear bomb that threatened to cause a tsunami. They put themselves in danger and while they didn’t stop that detonation, they gained enough attention and outrage to cause the government to stop conducting further tests there.
Greenpeace Mexico has worked hard on several action projects, including promoting the prohibition of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), also known as highly dangerous transgenic pesticides.
EXPIRATION / GONCHETaaa
If the packages of pasta that I buy at the supermarket have an expiration date, can I no longer use them if they pass that date?
A: Not exactly. Although dried pasta already has a shelf life of one to two years, it can actually last much longer than that, because it contains no water. As long as it’s stored in a cool, dry place, dried pasta can last up to three years.
Fresh pasta, on the other hand, contains water and spoils more easily, so you should do an odor test.
When was the first email sent (although some or want to call it email, what is practical and acceptable to the world is email)?
A: Thanks to Ray Tomlinson, who worked for the company hired by the Department of Defense to build the ARPANET.
Ray spent his downtime developing a program to send emails, electronically, using a software program called “SNDMSG.” He is also responsible for making @ the most important symbol of our time.
LIGHTS IN THE CABIN / JORGE R. ALEX
It should be added that this decrease in the intensity of passenger cabin lights occurs in the critical phases of flight, that is, after and during landings, when the probability of an unfortunate incident or accident forces an evacuation.
A: Don Jorge, thank you for your contribution, always welcome.
