Dublin Airport is bracing itself for a busy Christmas season, with today, December 23rd, predicted to be the busiest travel day leading up to Christmas Day. Approximately 93,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport’s terminals, contributing to a projected 1.4 million travelers throughout the entire festive period.
Despite this significant passenger volume, numbers remain lower than previous years due to an ongoing passenger cap implemented at Dublin Airport. The cap limits annual passenger traffic to 32 million.

Although today marks the busiest travel day leading up to Christmas, it won’t be the busiest day overall this month. December 27th takes the crown, with an anticipated 97,000 passengers expected to arrive and depart.
Dublin Airport, typically bustling throughout the year, will observe a closure on Christmas Day, marking its only closed day annually. However, a skeleton team, including fire and rescue personnel and airport police, will remain on duty.
