About the Author
I help to manage Slugger by taking care of the site as well as running our live events. My background is in business, marketing and IT. My politics tend towards middle-of-the-road pragmatism, I am not a member of any political party. Oddly for a member of the Slugger team, I am not that interested in daily politics, preferring to write about big ideas in society. When not stuck in front of a screen, I am a parkrun Run Director.

We are reader supported. Donate to keep Slugger lit!
For over 20 years, Slugger has been an independent platform for debate and new ideas. We have published over 40,000 posts and over one and a half million comments, attracting over 70,000 readers each month. Remarkably, all of this has been achieved through the dedication of our team of volunteers—we have never had any paid staff.
Slugger does not rely on any funding and deeply values its readers, ensuring a reader-centric experience free from intrusive ads or sponsored content. To maintain our independence, we rely on your generous support. While we operate efficiently and our writers are unpaid, we still need resources to cover our costs.
If you appreciate the value Slugger brings, we encourage you to consider becoming a Friend of Slugger by making a monthly donation of any amount, or a one-time contribution. Every donation, big or small, helps us keep Slugger alive and thriving.
