An Post issues final pre-Christmas delivery update

An Post Issues Final Christmas Delivery Update: Cards Last Posting Day Today!

With Christmas just around the corner, An Post is reminding customers about crucial delivery deadlines. Today, December 23rd, is the last day to post Christmas cards to ensure they arrive on time.

An Post has been working tirelessly to deliver millions of parcels and cards across Ireland. This weekend alone, they moved their nationwide delivery from Saturday to Sunday, accommodating over 150,000 additional parcels that arrived through various ports and by air. In total, they delivered 330,000 parcels and three million Christmas cards on December 22nd across almost 4,000 postal routes.

Last-Minute Deliveries

Don’t worry if you’re still shopping for those last-minute gifts! An Post will continue to deliver every parcel received into their hubs until Christmas Eve, from both Irish and international retailers and personal customers.

While items arriving after midnight on Sunday may not be guaranteed delivery, An Post is committed to delivering as many as possible.

Christmas Card Surge

With Christmas approaching quickly, An Post expects to deliver over five million Christmas cards between Sunday and today. Post offices will be open all day today and until 1 pm on Christmas Eve for any last-minute posting needs and banking transactions.

New Year Resumption

All post offices will re-open on December 30th, with parcel deliveries resuming on December 28th.

As they wrap up a busy holiday season, An Post representatives extend their well wishes: “Happy Christmas to you all and thanks for your support over the year. Best wishes for 2025.”
