Remembering David Smith: A Life Well Lived

The Ballina community mourns the passing of David Smith, who peacefully departed on December 27th, 2024, at Mayo Hospice Castlebar surrounded by his loving family. David, originally from Blairgowrie, Scotland, had made his home in Greenhills Est, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

A Beloved Husband and Father

David was a devoted husband to Mary, and a cherished father to his sons, Martin and David. He will be deeply missed by his daughters-in-law, Mairead and Catherine, along with his nephew, nieces, relatives, neighbors, and friends.

David was predeceased by his parents, David and Elizabeth, and his siblings, Sadie, Mary, Elizabeth, Sid, Billy, and Effie.

Celebrating David’s Life

David’s funeral mass will be held at St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina, on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at 11:30 am. The mass will be followed by burial at Leigue Cemetery, Ballina.
