Restaurants often function as unintended landmarks in our community landscapes; we dine there (or hope to),  pass by them, or think about what was there before or what might be on its way.

When restaurants close, it often affects more than just their owners, staff, and patrons; even if it’s simply the café you see while waiting for the bus but have never stopped into or the new spot that just opened up a few months ago you’ve been meaning to check out.
