Chef Andi Oliver has said things will only improve behind the scenes on TV when “we stop all the fake outrage and actually implement change” amid the Gregg Wallace furore.
The Great British Menu host, who had been speculated as a possible replacement for Wallace on MasterChef, claimed there are “tonnes of others who go around behaving badly” in the industry.
It was announced last month that Wallace is to step away from his hit BBC cooking show while historical misconduct complaints are externally reviewed by the show’s producer Banijay UK.
