Georgia’s Carson Beck Declares for NFL Draft After Successful Elbow Surgery

With the 2024 college football regular season officially wrapped up, players across the nation are announcing their futures, weighing decisions between entering the transfer portal and the NFL Draft. Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is the latest standout to reveal his plans, officially declaring for the NFL Draft.

Beck’s announcement comes on the heels of successful elbow surgery to repair a torn UCL.

On December 23, the University of Georgia released a statement confirming Beck’s surgery and stating that “a full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025.”

Despite missing the College Football Playoffs due to his injury, Beck leaves Georgia as a decorated Bulldog. During his college career, Beck amassed 7,912 passing yards, 58 touchdowns, and a commendable 68% completion rate. As a starter, he only lost three games, including leading Georgia to an SEC title in the 2023 season.

“ATHENS — Georgia quarterback Carson Beck underwent successful surgery Monday on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, Ca.  A full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025.”
