Rio Tinto Worker Missing at Sea: Massive Search Underway
Mining giant Rio Tinto has launched a desperate search for a missing deck fitter aboard one of its bulk carriers. The worker, last seen on a vessel traveling from China to Western Australia, vanished last week, prompting a major operation led by the Philippine Coast Guard.
Rio Tinto confirmed the situation on Thursday, stating that the extensive search and rescue efforts have been ongoing for the past week. They are working closely with Anglo-Eastern, the ship’s crew manager, and all relevant authorities in a bid to locate the missing individual.
Both Anglo-Eastern and the Philippine Coast Guard have yet to officially comment on the incident.
