This weekend, a mass of very cold air will make its journey southward, originating from the Arctic and spanning through the Canadian Plains before settling over the Great Lakes area. Later in the evening, with a wind direction shift to the northwest, snow squalls might make a comeback, potentially bringing 5-10 cm of snow to the area.
Saturday’s Forecast: Snow squalls will likely persist into Saturday afternoon, with northwest winds continuing to drive the weather system and deposit another 5-10 cm of snow on the ground. Highs will remain near -6°C, and windchill will keep temperatures around -15°C.
Sunday’s Weather: Sunday marks the end of the snow squall season, with cloudy skies and high temperatures near -7°C expected.
Sunshine Amidst the Cold
The sunshine arrives early next week, bringing a respite from the chaos, but comes with much colder air, making daytime highs plummet below -10°C.
