L’Occitane en Provence Will Close in Limerick in February

L’Occitane en Provence, a skincare store renowned for its products made with natural ingredients, is set to close its doors in Limerick city in February after 20 years of business.

Located on Thomas Street, the French-based chain has been a familiar face in Limerick’s retail scene since it opened. Despite its long-standing presence, the store on Thomas Street will soon be closing, ending a significant chapter in Limerick’s shopping history.

The closure of L’Occitane en Provence is another blow to Limerick, which has seen a series of business closures recently. Earlier this month, Clohessy’s Bar on Denmark Street shut its doors on December 30. Additionally, the White Feather Boutique, also situated on Denmark Street, announced its closure at the end of January 2024.

According to local sources, workers at L’Occitane en Provence are feeling disheartened by the closure. The store would have marked its 21st year in Limerick had it remained open, serving the community for another six months.
