One of the NHL’s greatest players has made his mark once again.
During Thursday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby collected three points to move into ninth place on the NHL’s all-time scoring list.
Crosby now has 1,643 points, moving him past Colorado Avalanche legend Joe Sakic who retired with 1,641.
The centre now sits behind fellow franchise icon Mario Lemieux on the scoring list. Lemieux leads Crosby by 80 points, as the Montreal native finished his career with 1,723 points.
In the 2024-25 season so far, Crosby has notched 12 goals and 33 assists in 42 games played. In his 20 NHL seasons, the superstar sits at 604 goals and 1,037 assists in 1,314 career games.
