Carlos Alcaraz revealed how he has been taking inspiration from another Spanish sporting sensation: mixed martial artist (MMA) Ilia Topuria.
The Olympic tennis silver medallist, who’s chasing a fifth major title at the upcoming Australian Open 2025, opened up about his admiration for Topuria, who has won all 16 of his fights, including six knockouts, in a distinguished career so far.
Alcaraz said in a press conference ahead of the Australian Open: “We always have moments of doubt and difficulties, but [Ilia] Topuria’s confidence in every fight inspired me to not have doubts and to know who I am and what I have. He has helped me dust myself off at times.”
