Mr Heneghan said he did not care about a person’s history and that he would back anyone trying to improve the community.
“You look forward not backward. If someone wants to add to the community and make it an improved facility, I’ll always back that person,” he said.
Mr Heneghan met the board of Kilmore Celtic FC on the northside of Dublin after Russell contacted the TD. Mr Heneghan said he was not aware of Russell’s past when he met him last week.
“I had a great, productive meeting with the committee from Kilmore Celtic FC. At the end of the day, I’ll work with my constituents who want to improve Dublin Bay…
