The aftermath of Storm Éowyn is still being felt by most homes across the Northern Sound region, with many still without power and water.
ESB networks have confirmed there are 40,000 homes and businesses without power across Cavan and Monaghan.
This is down on the 55,000 that were affected by the power outages at the height of Storm Éowyn on Friday morning.
Co. Cavan is the worst affected, with close to 9,000 power outages reported by the ESB, particularly in the Virginia and Cavan Town areas, where there are 6,000 power outages in the two areas combined.
There are fewer customers still impacted in Co. Monaghan, but a total of 4,320 are yet to have their electricity supply…
