Calls for the Dáil to be recalled are growing louder in the wake of Storm Éowyn with up to 100,000 homes and businesses likely to be without power for the rest of the week and some cut off from the grid until the end of next week
About 228,000 homes, businesses and farms were still without power on Monday, afternoon down from close to 250,000 earlier in the day.
The Dáil is not due to sit again until February 5th, but Sinn Féin and the Social Democrats have called for TDs to return to Leinster House before then.
