Un retour triomphal: the stars are back
After crossing “well-deserved vacation” off their to-do lists following Paris 2024, many of judo’s biggest stars have circled one date on their calendars for their return: the Paris Grand Slam.
Although the World Judo Tour resumed its usual operations with Grand Prix and Grand Slams post-Games, many Olympians opted for a break to recharge. Now, the crème de la crème, as the host nation might say, is back.
The 2025 Paris Grand Slam marks the return of notable names, including Kosovo’s Distria Krasniqi, the -48kg Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion and -52kg Paris 2024 silver medalist, who is eyeing a fresh start and aiming to defend her 2024 Paris Grand Slam title.
