Background: Brain energy metabolism disorders, including glucose utilization disorders and abnormal insulin sensitivity, are linked to the pathogenesis of postoperative delirium. Intranasal insulin has shown significant benefits in improving glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity and cognitive function.
