According to a report by the New York Post, Trump stated that he discussed bringing an end to the fighting with Putin, who reportedly expressed a desire to see “people stop dying.” Trump, however, declined to disclose the frequency of their conversations.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the TASS state news agency that he was unaware of any such phone call. While acknowledging the possibility of communication between the two leaders, Peskov emphasized the volume of interactions occurring through various channels, stating, “Given these multiple communications, I personally can’t know something, not be aware of something. Therefore, in this case, I can’t either confirm or deny this.”
