This Safer Internet Day, WebWise are inviting parents, educators, schools, and young people to consider how alogrithms and influencers shape young lives.
The annual day works as a reminder to empower children to thrive, equipped with skills to navigate both the opportunities and challenges of all that comes with being online.
A report of a national survey of children, their parents and adults regarding online safety in 2021 found that 26% of children and young people in Ireland have encountered harmful content online.
With this in mind, this year’s SID theme is: Prepare / Protect/ Thrive.
