Taoiseach Micheál Martin has spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky by phone ahead of a summit next week to mark the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine.
Mr Martin is understood to have told President Zelensky of Ireland’s ongoing support for Ukraine, and how Ireland will support the acceleration of Ukraine’s EU membership application process.
The phone call came before a summit next week to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion, and as US president Donald Trump said Ukraine has “no cards” left to play.
