Kilkenny-Limerick postponed due to unplayable pitch

Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1A clash between Kilkenny and Limerick has been postponed due to an unplayable pitch at UPMC Nowlan Park.

The game was due to throw-in at 1.45pm but following heavy rain at the venue, a pitch inspection was conducted this morning and the surface was deemed unplayable.

There are now four Allianz League games across both codes that have been postponed, with the meeting of Sligo and Clare in Division 3 of the football league and the Division 3 hurling clash between Cavan and Armagh both falling victim to the elements. Meanwhile, the Division 4 meeting of Wexford and Wicklow was postponed yesterday, reportedly due to a bereavement.
