LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior infielder Giselle Gonzalez was named the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Gonzalez, a native of San Diego, California, helped the Aggies to a 4-1 showing at the Utah Tech-hosted Lyman Classic last week with wins over UC San Diego, Weber State, San Diego and Utah Tech. Gonzalez led the team with 13 RBIs, hitting five home runs on the week. She recorded at least one hit in all five games, including a 2-for-3 showing with two home runs, two runs scored and three RBIs against Weber State and a 3-for-4 performance against Utah Tech with three home runs, four runs scored and eight RBIs.
