The Indian women’s hockey team beat world No. 1 Netherlands 2-1 in a shootout after holding them to a 2-2 draw in its FIH Pro League 2024-25 match at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Despite going two goals down against the reigning Olympic, world and FIH Pro League champions, India mounted a remarkable comeback courtesy goals from Deepika (35’) and Baljeet Kaur (43’).
