Fable Release Delayed to 2026 & New Pre-Alpha Gameplay Shared

Microsoft has confirmed that the highly anticipated reboot of the 2004 fantasy RPG Fable will be delayed from the 2025 release window to 2026. 

The announcement was made by Craig Duncan, the head of Xbox Game Studios, during the latest episode of the Xbox Podcast. This will give more time to the developers at Playground Games, which has been working on the project using the ForzaTech Engine since it was unveiled in 2020 and joined by Eidos-Montréal in 2021 as an assistant developer. “While I know that’s not maybe the news people want to hear, what I want to assure people of is that it’s definitely worth the wait,” Duncan said.
