Ireland’s worst competitive defeat in over 12 years
It’s all over in Slovenia and what a disastrous night for Ireland. Carla Ward and her side were targeting a big performance and couple of goals but got neither as Slovenia totally outclassed them in the first half with three goals inside the opening 30 minutes. Ireland were slightly improved after the break but the goal never came as Kajzba’s superb strike put the cherry on top for the hosts.
For Ireland, it’s back to the drawing board as the April double-header against Greece takes on huge importance.
