A YOUNG woman died after falling 65ft at Snowdonia (Eryri) in front of her friend.

Maria Eftimova, 28, originally from Bulgaria, was killed in the accident on the Welsh mountain on Saturday.

Her friend who was with her posted a heartbreaking snap of Maria.

They were part of a group ascending the north-ridge when she fell 20 metres into steep terrain.

Passers-by with climbing equipment abseiled down and she was given CPR.
