It’s almost St Patrick’s Day and the biggest town in Laois is set for a marvellous day thanks to the hard work of the volunteer committee, with entertainment from the top to bottom of the town.
Portlaoise parade starting at 12.30pm will be crammed with the traditional brightly coloured floats from businesses, associations, and community groups from all over the county and beyond.
Many Laois clubs will be proudly parading in their own colours and a “bit o’ the green” for the day that’s in it.
The fun begins on Monday, March 17 when Portlaoise Athletic Club host their Streets of Portlaoise 5km race. Young, old, and everyone in between will be trying to beat their personal best times, to the cheers of thousands of well wishers lining the streets…
