Tiger Woods undergoes surgery on ruptured Achilles

Tiger Woods underwent surgery to repair his ruptured left Achilles tendon Tuesday morning, he announced on social media.

Woods sustained the injury while ramping up training at his home. The golfer’s surgeon said he’s expected to make a full recovery.

“I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support,” Woods wrote.

He didn’t provide a timeline for his potential return, but recovery from a torn Achilles typically takes four-to-six months.

Woods originally committed to February’s Genesis Invitational but withdrew following the death of his mother.

The 49-year-old hasn’t played a PGA TOUR event since missing the cut at the 2024 Open Championship in July. He played in just five tournaments…
