The DPP has decided that a case against a 24-year-old man should proceed by indictment for assaults, criminal damage, and violent disorder at Sullivan’s Quay three years ago.
Sergeant Aisling Murphy said the DPP indicated that the case should go to trial by judge and jury at the Circuit Court or that a signed plea of guilty could be entered.
Solicitor Frank Buttimer, on behalf of defendant Davin Jackson of Millrange, Ballincollig, Co Cork, asked for a summary of the evidence so that the defence could consider the possibility of entering a signed plea of guilty.
