Marcos to convince nations to ink nuclear test ban deal

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has vowed to convince other nations to ratify the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) to ensure that the world is safe from nuclear threats. 

Marcos made the commitment to Robert Floyd, Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) executive secretary, during the latter’s courtesy call in Malacañang on Tuesday.

“We’ll do our best. We are familiar with the process,” Marcos told Floyd.

According to the Presidential Communications Office, Floyd had sought the President’s assistance in convincing the leaders of Tonga, Bhutan, and Nepal to sign and ratify the CTBT, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly…
