Dermot Bannon slams modular homes plans

Dermot Bannon has slammed plans to ease planning laws surrounding modular homes, saying that the country have failed if such moves are implemented.

It was reported last month that planning permission surrounding cabins and modular homes was going to be relaxed, with Minister of State John Cummins saying that planning permission can be extended for free-standing modular homes and cabins in back gardens in an attempt to curb the ongoing housing crisis.

However, architect and Room to Improve host Dermot has slammed the idea — saying that building cabins and modular homes would mean that the government have failed in the housing crisis.
