Nearly 600 Palestinians have been killed since the truce between Israel and Hamas was shattered on Tuesday.
ADVERTISEMENTIsrael’s defence minister has said he has ordered the military to advance deeper into Gaza, vowing to hold more land until Hamas releases the remaining hostages it holds.
Defence Minister Israel Katz said operations in the Strip would continue “with increasing intensity until the hostages are released by Hamas.”
“The more Hamas continues its refusal to release the kidnapped, the more territory it will lose to Israel,” Katz said.
Hamas is still holding 59 hostages but at least 35 are believed to be dead.
