The Indian men’s basketball team beat Iraq 97-77 in Group H of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers for third-placed teams at the Khalifa Sports City on Friday.
The win pushed them one step closer to the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in August.
In the final qualifying tournament, the top two teams from each group will make the cut for the FIBA Asia Cup. Six third-placed teams from the qualifiers are playing for the last four spots in the final qualifying round. India are clubbed with Iraq and Bahrain in Group H.
India asserted their dominance after a competitive opening quarter, taking control in the second before pulling away decisively in the third.
