The Carlow senior football squad has vehemently refuted claims that “player issues” were to blame for Shane Curran’s dramatic managerial exit on the cusp of championship.

The former Roscommon goalkeeper stepped aside on Wednesday, just 11 days out from Carlow’s Leinster SFC opener away to Meath on Sunday week.
