Introduction
Lumbar spine degenerative diseases are a group of disorders involving degeneration of intervertebral discs and degeneration and hyperplasia of adjacent small joints and posterior structures.1 The adjacent segment degeneration global lifetime and point prevalences of lumbar spine degenerative diseases are 38.9% and 11.9%, respectively.2 These diseases have symptoms such as low back pain and neurogenic intermittent claudication that can cause disability in severe cases, substantially affecting the quality of life of middle-aged and older patients and increasing the economic burden on their families and society.
