Upon returning to his truck, pope Waly Ndiaye noticed signs of tampering and discovered the unfamiliar mobile phone. Suspecting an attempted theft, he promptly reported the incident to the local gendarmerie, handing over the phone as evidence.

Realizing his mistake, F. Diouf reportedly panicked and enlisted his wife’s help. He instructed her to call his phone and claim that it had been lost during a religious song session.However, the call was intercepted by the gendarmerie, who requested to speak with the phone’s owner.
