Derelict pub set to be transformed as part of new housing development

A landmark building in Ballinasloe is set to be transformed to include a new community facility as part of a 16-unit residential housing development in the centre of the Co Galway town.

Galway County Council has signed contracts with Custy Construction Ltd and OBFA Architects for the delivery of the scheme, which is being financed under the Government’s Housing For All programme and directly by the local authority.

The project is scheduled for completion by July 2026.
