The consequences of drinking and driving were felt in a powerful, emotional way in a Guelph court Friday.
Nicholas McGrath, who pleaded guilty in connection with a fatal crash near Hillsburgh almost two years ago, was handed a six-year prison sentence, plus a 10-year driving prohibition.
His actions on a rainy evening on July 23, 2023 were enough to prompt Justice Pamela Borghesan to say McGrath, of Hillsburgh, was “a time bomb waiting to explode.”
