BOSTON — Due to persistent rain in the Boston area, Saturday’s Red Sox-Cardinals game was postponed and will be played as part of a day-night doubleheader on Sunday.
Fans with tickets to Saturday’s game can use them for Game 1, at 1:35 p.m. ET/12:35 p.m. CT. The nightcap will go on as scheduled on Sunday Night Baseball at 7:10 p.m. ET/6:10 p.m. CT.
The Red Sox downed the Cardinals in a 13-9 slugfest in Friday’s home opener.
The clubs had a delay of two hours and eight minutes before the decision was made to postpone Saturday’s contest.
