The official Instagram account of Ridwan Kamil, the former Governor of West Java, appears to have been compromised.On Friday, April 11, 2025, the account, identified as @ridwankamil, displayed a black screen accompanied by cryptic messages. The initial message, Eng ing Eng we are back friends … Ridwan Kamil responsibility don’t run … was posted around 18:58 WIB and quickly garnered over 14,000 comments.

Shortly after, a second message appeared, stating, Congratulations Maintaining This Earlier Only beginning of us, which also attracted significant attention, accumulating over 13,000 comments within a similar timeframe. The nature and intent behind these messages remain unclear, but the incident raises serious concerns about the security of high-profile social media accounts.

Official Response from Ridwan Kamil

In response to the apparent breach, Ridwan Kamil issued a statement acknowledging the situation.He confirmed that he lost access to his Instagram account, which boasts a substantial following of 21.5 million users, around 19:20 WIB.Kamil has reported the incident to Meta, the parent company of Instagram, seeking their assistance in restoring control over the account.

For the time being, I am not responsible for all uploads, comments, and activities that emerged from the account until there was an official confirmation from the Meta that the control had returned to me and the team.
