Nvidia’s Shield TV gets bug fixes and an app update – could it signal a new model?

Nvidia rolled out a new patch for its SHIELD TV back in February, providing a much-needed support boost to a seemingly forgotten device. More recently, the company started rolling out another update to the hardware, dubbed SHIELD Experience Upgrade 9.2.1

Unlike the previous patch from a few months ago, this one is significantly smaller and focuses mainly on resolving certain bugs. For example, the update fixes playback issues on the streaming service PLEX when using AAC 5.1 audio. Connection issues with third-party remotes after going to sleep or rebooting will no longer happen.
