Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini and Mostafa Asal secured a title sweep for the North African squash powerhouse at the 2024-25 PSA World Championships in Chicago on Saturday evening (16 May).
The 29-year-old El Sherbini beat her fellow Egyptian Hania El Hammamy 11-5, 11-9, 4-11, 11-7 for her eighth world title, matching the record of Malaysian legend Nicol David.
“It’s amazing. I never thought I would win eight,” said El Sherbini after playing in her 10th successive World Championships final.
