Fresh off a series of Grand Prix tournaments earlier this month, the world’s best sabre and epee fencers are wasting no time lunging straight back into the fray.

With the reigning Olympic champion and silver medallist out of the picture, all eyes turn to Hungary’s Eszter Muhari in the women’s epee in Wuxi. The bronze medallist from Paris is the top seed here, but her journey hasn’t been without its stumbles, like a near-miss at the Bogota Grand Prix earlier this month. Muhari is a force, sharp and unyielding, but she’ll need to be at her best against Italy’s Giulia Rizzi.
