The Skellig Coast Tourism Network (SCTN), representing over 120 local businesses, is calling for urgent and direct engagement from the Office of Public Works (OPW), following the indefinite suspension of landing access to Skellig Michael.
Currently, the legal case surrounding the issuing of permits has been adjourned to June 3 but there is no clarity on whether or not these permits will be issued on that date to allow trips to the island to re-open.
SCTN has criticised the OPW for its failure to engage with tourism operators who are experiencing a significant and damaging fall-out from the closure.
