Quartet win in first games since shorts vote

Galway, Cork, Kilkenny and Clare all picked up victories in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship on Saturday afternoon in the first round of games since a special congress vote at Croke Park ruled that shorts can become part of the official kit for the code.

On Thursday, the Camogie Association voted overwhelmingly in favour of the rule change which as a result means players now have the option of wearing shorts or skorts.

With the new rule in place, Galway opened their championship campaign with a 0-15 to 1-06 victory over Dublin at a rain soaked Kenny Park in Athenry.
