Oncologists play a pivotal role in diagnosing and managing nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC). Deborah Wong, MD, PhD, led a discussion on the challenges and strategies in diagnosing and treating NPC at a virtual Case-Based Roundtable event. Wong is an associate clinical professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology and director of the Head and Neck Medical Oncology Program at the University of California, Los Angeles. The event participants focused on the role of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and shared insights on staging, imaging modalities, and how EBV status impacts prognosis and treatment decisions.
